Alliant and LIHTC A window of opportunity opened in 1986 with the introduction of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) under Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code. As a syndicator teaming with investors and solid developers, Alliant has sought to raise the standard of housing for families and persons with the most modest incomes - service workers, seniors on fixed incomes, and people with disabilities. In the process, Alliant is helping to change negative stereotypes and experiences of affordable housing within American society. With nearly 65 million low income Americans experiencing paralyzing discrepancies between their wages and the cost of safe, affordable housing, the leadership that Alliant is providing in the field of LIHTC syndication is more critical now than ever. Likewise, the tax credit-driven profit opportunity for developers and investors in this mission of hope is substantial. |
